Last week Grace decided we needed to bake a cake at 7:00 AM. Way too early for my taste, but she loves to bake with me. When the cake was baking, I made the icing, and Grace got to work on the decorating which involves lots of taste testing. She giggles with each shake of the sprinkle bottles into her bowls. She makes the perfect combination of all the colors for decorating the cake. She did a little too much taste testing on this batch of toppings, so we did not put sprinkles on this cake. I did let her choose the color for the icing which ended up looking a grayish-green mud color. She kept requesting more color to be added, so now I know that more food coloring does not make a prettier icing. But we had a great time. The hardest part was convincing her that we were done with the food coloring. She just wanted to keep adding more and more.
